34 PERISH IN BUS ACCIDENT

At least 34 people have died in fatal road accident on the Great East road near Nyimba in the Eastern province.

The accident happened Wednesday, 27the July 2011 when a bus collided head-on with a truck in the outskirts of Nyimba district.

Police Spokesperson, Ndandula Siamana has said in a statement that the driver of the truck and his passenger have been burnt to ashes in the respective accident.

Meanwhile, Eastern province Permanent Secretary, Euleria Mwale has attributed the accident to over speeding.
