RUSSIA LOOKS TO INVEST IN ZAMBIA


Russian Ambassador to Zambia, Boris Malakhov has disclosed of his country’s increased interest in the Southern African country’s economy.
The Bloomberg reports that Mr Malakhov says Russian businesses are seeking large- scale investments in mines and farms in Zambia.
He has cited Zambia’s predictable political stability as a major pre-requisite for good foreign direct investment.
Mr Malakhov has added that to the effect, Russian companies want to invest not just in copper but in other sectors such as construction and agriculture.
He has revealed that the embassy in Zambia has received overwhelming applications and expressions of interest from Russian companies.
