Secretary to the Treasury, Fredyson Yamba has
announced tightened public expenditure reforms, aimed at improving
accountability over tax-payers money.
Mr Yamba also says the reforms will also advance
the utilisation of public resources .
He has noted that it is important that public
funds are used to create and provide quality services to the Zambian populace.
The reforms have been reinforced by the government's drive as spelt out in the National Vision 2030 and other policy documents including the Sixth National Development Plan for the period 2011 to 2015.
The reforms come amid the protracted continued abuse of public funds in the civil service as noted by the past Auditor-General’s reports.
