President Sata has
fired all the 72 District Commissioners in the country.
Mr Sata has argued
that his decision is aimed at getting rid of politicians in the civil service.
He has since
instructed all the former DCs to immediately vacate the government houses they
are occupying.
And President Sata
has fired Police Inspector-General, Francis Kabonde and replaced him with
Copperbelt province commanding officer, Martin Malama.
Meanwhile, the
boards of directors for ZESCO, National Pension Scheme Authority –NAPSA, Zambia
Revenue Authority –ZRA, and Bank of Zambia have been dissolved with immediate
effect.
The President has
also fired ZESCO Managing Director, Ernest Mupwaya and replaced him with the
company’s former Managing Director, Cyprian Chitundu, who he says was
fraudulently fired.
Mr Sata has sited
allegations of mismanagement as his reasons for dissolving the boards of the
named parastatals companies.
