TAZARA UNIONISED WORKERS DOWN TOOLS

Unionised Workers at TAZARA in Kapiri Mposhi have gone on strike demanding salaries increment and improved conditions of service.
The workers downed tools today and FURTHER refused to enter the office premises at Kapiri-Mposhi branch.
They insisted that management should increase their salaries by 2 million kwacha across the board.
The workers have also demanded for the removal of the company Managing Director, Akashambatwa Mbikusita-Lewanika.
Other members of management, the worker removed are Deputy Managing Director, Dismus Ndumbaro and Regional General Manager, Sinonge Masiliso.
The workers accuse management of failing to improve conditions of service.
