Transparency International Zambia says it
will be unfair to brand all parastatal board of directors as conduits of
corruption.
TIZ President, Rueben Lifuka has stated that there
are some parastatal companies being run by transparent and accountable boards.
He has explained that it is imperative that government
takes maximum restraint in making adjustments to the boards for parastatals
companies.
Mr Lifuka has said in an interview that the
country still needs the boards for continued good corporate governance.
Meanwhile, Information Minister, Given
Lubinda has promised to constitute boards for all state media institutions.
Mr Lubinda announced that government
will soon be announcing Boards for Times of Zambia, ZNBC and Zambia
Daily Mail.
The
minister disclosed this when announcing the appointment of the new Director
General at ZNBC, Joseph Chilaizya and the new Director for Programmes, Kenneth
Maduma.
Mr
