The Zambia Tourism Board –ZTB- has expressed confidence of
increased tourist inflows in advent of international airlines initiating
flights into Zambia.
ZTB Managing Director, Felix Chaila says the latest airline to fly
into Zambia is United Arab Emirates –UAE- flag carrier, Air Emirates.
Mr Chaila says ZTB has since partnered with Air Emirates in order
to increase tourists inflow by focusing on emerging economies.
ZTB has now put its target tourists inflow at 1.5 million in the
next 5 years, up from the current 850,000 per year.
Meanwhile, Mr Chaila says the elections period did not affect the
tourism sector.
Mr Chaila has also noted that peace is one of the attributed ZTB
uses in its marketing strategy.
He has further stated that Zambia’s record of peace is good for
furthering growth of the tourism sector.
