COURTS GRANTS INJUNCTION AGAINST STATE-OWNED TIMES OF ZAMBIA

The Lusaka high court has granted an injunction restraining the Times of Zambia from publishing articles accusing Patriotic Front and its leader, Michael Sata.

Mr Sata has applied for the injunction to restrain the state-owned media from accusing the PF of receiving funds from Taiwan and Afghanistan.

This is relating to articles published in July 2011 by the Times of Zambia under the headlines PF gets Afghan, Taiwanese cash for Lusaka land and Sata condemned over 45 million US dollars Taiwan Funding.

Mr Sata had contended that the said articles were false as the party had not received any funding from Afghanistan
or Taiwan for this year's general elections.
