GOVERNMENT CALLS FOR BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS

Transport and Communications Ministry Permanent Secretary, Dominic Sichinga has called for partnerships among local businesses.
Mr Sichinga says business partnerships help in job creation and national economic growth.
He has highlighted the need for effective private sector participation, which he says has over the years yielded positive results.
Mr Sichinga was speaking last evening at the launch of Adios Android smart phone by Huawei, a Chinese firm, in partnership with a local mobile phone service provider.
Meanwhile, Standard Chartered bank Zambia has set aside 25,000 dollars for investment in a housing project targeted at vulnerable people in Lusaka.
Bank Managing Director, Mizinga Melu says the project aims at empowering the poor with decent accommodation.
Mrs Melu has further noted that those in the low income bracket equally desire to own land as well as decent housing but they require alternative financial assistance.
She was speaking today during the construction of a 3-roomed house for a woman of Lusaka’s Chazanga compound at the habitat for humanity site.
