GENERAL MIYANDA VOWS TO SWEEP CLEAN STATE HOUSE OF ALL ILLS AND EVILS

Heritage Party leader, Godfrey Miyanda has vowed to clean up state house once elected to the republican presidency.
Brigadier-General Miyanda has further downplayed assertions of intimidation in the run up to the 20th September 2011 presidential elections.
He has explained that he is not unsettled to run against the MMD and PF candidates, Rupiah Banda and Michael Sata respectively.
Brigadier-General Miyanda was speaking at the Supreme court grounds soon after successfully filing his presidential nomination.
Meanwhile, Zambia Conservative Party leader, Peter Simpemba has failed to file his presidential nomination after he was allegedly tricked by his supporters.
Mr Simpemba, who arrived at the Supreme court at 14:50 hours, told journalists that his supporters duped him that they were already at the court buildings when in fact not.
He has said he was however surprised to find no supporter waiting for him at the Supreme court even after he had paid for their transport.
Mr Simpemba further expressed disappointment at the behaviour of his supporters.
And the Revolutionary Communist Party has accused the Electoral Commission of Zambia of being inefficient.
The party has since cited this as reason for its withdrawal from the 2011 presidential race.
The Party’s presidential candidate, Mubita Wakumelo has stated that ECZ only informed him of the need to change his symbol 6 days ago.
Mr Wakumelo, who was supposed to file his nomination today, has further claimed that his party is being discriminated against because it is based in Western province.
Meanwhile, the media has been tipped to collaborate with the police service in order to ascertain safety during the general elections.
The advice is from former MISA Zambia Chairperson, Henry Kabwe.
Mr Kabwe has explained that the media has the inevitable duty to keep the nation informed on electoral developments however they equally need a secure atmosphere.
He has stated in an interview that it is however sad that some political stakeholders have set violent agenda against some media institutions.
