US WARNS ITS CITIZENS ON TRAVELLING TO ZAMBIA

The United States of America has issued a warning to its citizens intending to travel to Zambia amid the upcoming general elections.
According to the US state department, there is potential unrest in the country during the 20th September elections.
The US government has also urged Americans to monitor the situation before traveling to Zambia.
Amid the call to uphold peace, Zambians go to the polls next month to elect public leaders.
Meanwhile, former Works and Supply Deputy Minister, Lameck Mangani is among parliamentary aspirants who have successfully filed their nominations for Chipata central.
Others successful aspirants are Rueben Phiri for Chipata on the MMD ticket, in Lundazi, there is Mkhondo Lungu for the MMD and Evans Ngoma for the PF.
By broadcast time, in Kasama, the PF’s Geoffrey Bwalya, popularly known as GBM has successfully filed while in Mansa the PF’s Kennedy Sakeni had successfully filed.
And here in Lusaka, the MMD’s Majory Mwape was the first to file in Munali alongside her Kabwata colleague, Peter Machungwa and his rival Given Lubinda.
And in Ndola, the nominations were dominated by only three political parties with no news of independents.
The three are the opposition UPND, PF and the ruling MMD.
