Global funds grants disbursements to Zambia have resumed at the release of 141 million dollars for the next 2 years.
Today the United Nations Development Programme signed for the disbursement of the funds on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
The funding was temporarily suspended following the alleged abuse of the facility, after which Zambia was compelled to pay back the misused money.
The latest grant will allow some 400,000 people access free HIV/AIDS treatment over the next two years.
The Ministry of Health will also scale up access to treatment by creating 68 new antiretroviral therapy sites and supplying drugs to all 454 existing ART sites throughout the country.
