Electorates in 15 select wards will not
vote in the local government category in tomorrow’s general elections.
This is because the Electoral Commission
of Zambia has cancelled the respective polls on reasons of candidates’ errors
on ballot papers.
The ECZ has since rescheduled to a later
date, the polls in the 15 wards in Eastern, Central, Copperbelt and Western
provinces.
Other wards affected are in Lusaka,
Luapula, Northern, southern and North-western provinces.
Meanwhile, ECZ Public Relations Manager,
Cris Akufuna has further announced the postponement of parliamentary elections
in 2 constituencies.
Mr Akufuna has named the affected
constituencies as Nakonde in Northern province and Magoye in Southern province.
He has cited deaths in the named
political party candidates in the respective affected constituencies.
