ELECTORAL STAKEHOLDERS CONDEMN ELECTORAL VIOLENCE

National Restoration Party –NAREP- President, Elias Chipimo has lamented the increased incidences of electoral violence.
Mr Chipimo says his party has also fallen prey to the violence with the latest involving the stoning of his member, who sustained deep cuts.
He has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, Francis Kabonde to be serious and ensure that the violence is prevented.
Mr Chipimo says the named party perpetuating violence should just fight the opposition through the ballot box instead of engaging in violence.
Meanwhile, Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers President, Cephas Mukuka has advised presidential candidates to be ready to accept the elections outcome.
Mr Mukuka says politicians should take a leaf from first Republican President, Kenneth Kaunda’s tolerance exhibited in 1991.
He has explained that the outcome of the elections will be the will of the people and it should be allowed to prevail.
Mr Mukuka says it is however saddening that some presidential candidates have declared that they will not accept defeat.
