LABOUR MOVEMENT SEEKS PECULIAR INTERESTS FROM NEW GOVERNMENT

The Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia has challenged the new government to prioritise reforms in the labour sector.
Union President, Davy Chiyobe says labour reforms must be one of the key issues to be addressed.
Mr Chiyobe has explained that casualisation is one of the critical issues, which need urgent attention from the new administration.
President Michael Sata, during his inauguration last Friday, promised to address problems in the labour sector.
And the Zambia United Local Authorities Workers Union –ZULAWU- has welcomed the Patriotic Front’s decision to stop cadres from taking over markets.
ZULAWU General Secretary, Noah Kalangu says the councils have lost a lot of revenue through cadres’ takeover of markets in the previous government.
Mr Kalangu has observed that the local authorities lost out in revenue for development.
Meanwhile, Mr Kalamgu has appealed to President Michael Sata to work with the labour movement.
