TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL DEMANDS MMD ‘S SOURCE OF ELECTIONS FUNDING

Transparent International Zambia has reiterated its call on the MMD to disclose the source of its extravagant funding for the 20^th September general elections.

TIZ President Rueben Lifuka says his organisation is concerned with the huge amounts of money spent by the former ruling party in the campaigns.

Mr Lifuka has since asked for an investigation into the MMD’s campaigns funding.

He has further expressed hope that the MMD did not commit the country to any future contracts in the quest to access funding for its campaigns.

And Mr Lifuka has also asked the new government to ensure that a detailed audit of all public procurement tenders conducted in the last three years.

Efforts to get a comment from the MMD secretariat proved futile by broadcast time.
