The Centre for Policy Dialogue has predicted victory
for President Rupiah Banda after the 20th September general
elections.
In the latest opinion poll, the centre’s Director,
Neo Simutanyi says Mr Banda will win the Presidential elections by 40 per cent.
De Simutanyi has further stated that the Patriotic
Front’s Michael Sata will garner 38 per cent while the UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema
will be third.
He has claimed that after the predictions follow an
opinion poll carried out in various parts of the country with a sample of 1,500
registered voters.
Dr Simutanyi has based the opinion poll results on
the MMD’s acclaimed consolidated strongholds in Eastern, Central, North Western
and Western Provinces.
In the first opinion poll this year, Dr Simutanyi
had said that the PF would win by 31 percent while the MMD would be second with
28 percent of votes cast.
