NMPP CANDIDATE DITCHES PARTY FOR OPPOSITION AT LAST MINUTE

Ng’andu Magande’s National Movement for Progressive Party (NMP)  candidate for Pemba constituency has with immediate effect ditched the party for UPND.
Announcing his resignation from NMP, Hosea Mwaana told the Watchdog in an interview that he was not ready to compete against late Anderson Mazoka’s wife Mutinta who is contesting on the UPND ticket in the area.
Mr Mwaana together with his four councilors have resigned from NMP after successfully filing in their nominations for this month’s election. Mwaana also said he has decided to withdraw his candidature on the NMP ticket, adding that those believing in him should vote for the UPND candidate.
he further said he had decided to join the UPND because of its sincerity in issues of governance. He said the UPND was the only political party with a proper manifesto which can help Zambia address issues of high levels of poverty, unemployment and poor marketing systems.
Mr Mwaana who is a former councilor under the MMD said for a long time now the ruling party in power was just using him to mobilize the people in the area without fulfilling its promises of building roads, schools, water borehole and pumps.
