NGO SEEKS REDRESS TO WOMEN MARGINALISATION IN LAND ISSUES

A local Non-Governmental Organisation has bemoaned the continued marginalization of women in land matters.

Kitwe District Land Alliance Chairperson, Mpenza Mwanza says women remain the most marginalised in accessing, owning and controlling land.

Mrs Mwanza has noted that this is despite women accounting for at least 70 percent of national food production.

She was speaking today in Kitwe during a presentation of a research report on women’s access to land.

And the organisation’s Coordinator, Jesinta Kunda called on the new government to ensure that the land Act of 1995 is reviewed for the benefit of all Zambians.
