ZTB NOTES TOURISM SECTOR GROWTH

Zambia Tourism Board has observed that the tourism industry has become an important global economic sector.
ZTB Managing Director, Felix Chaila says the sector is one of the fastest growing at the rate of more than 7 per cent.
Mr Chaila has told ZANIS today that the ZTB board is since working hard to make Zambia achieve a growth rate of over 10 per cent.
He has further noted that the recently launched Lets Explore brand, has been received positively by both the public and
the tourism industry.
A recent Action Aid International report has listed Zambia among 20 most aid-dependent countries, which have reduced their dependency on foreign aid.
The 2011 Action Aid 3 report indicates that Zambia has in the past decade reduced foreign aid dependency by almost 50 percent.
Other countries noted for their aid dependency reductions are Mozambique and Rwanda.
